The world's largest online community for young people interested in positive change is celebrating five dynamic years. In 1999, TIG founders Jennifer Corriero and Michael Furdyk agreed that the world needs not just dating and hobby communities but - maybe more - an online community for young people that want to save the world from on-going destruction. They sold their IT businesses and set out on a remarkable undertaking. http://about.takingitglobal.org/d/people/staff Five years later, TIG has grown to be the world's largest online community of young people supporting positive change. 90,000+ members in 200+ countries, several language editions, offices around the world and a monthly growth rate of 10% speak for themselves. Furthermore, TIG is present at many international events, last not least the United Nation's WSIS World Summit on the Information Society. TIG organises youth forums and the Youth ICT Award. Visit TIG's Theme Page to learn about five active years - looking back and, of course - looking ahead! TIG's Member Impact Survey 2004 explores TIG members' feelings regarding the community and the impact it has had on their lives.
