The idec2006 organisers have teamed up with IHTEC, PNYV! and Open-Forum Berlin to make the idec sessions available to a global audience.
During the conference week, you could join the sessions "live" through IHTEC's Online Conferencing Room.
Some sessions were held with simultaneous powerpoint presentations in the conference room, surfing the internet, chat discussions. You can view these by choosing the "online conference files". When no powerpoint files were available prior to the session, you will still be able to view the conference room and eventual chat / comments etc., and to listen to the presenter.
Instead, you can also simply download the audio files. In this case, however, you will not see the supporting powerpoint slideshow, when available.
Overall, we are very happy with the results! The tech fairies on site picked it up real fast and did a great job at managing the broadcast. Participants of course enjoyed the conference and were positively surprised by the technical opportunities opening up with effective, yet cheap and simple to use internet technology.
We are looking forward to using this technology in further conferences, and thus making the events INCLUSIVE and accessible to a global audience, educators, SCHOOLS etc., both during and after the event. So, think of this opportunity and contact us!

With good audio quality and the whole show: funny remarks about attaching cables and microphones to dynamic speakers, video films played to the audience (and for you to listen to), singing, fun, music, planning ahead for regional idecs in 2007 and beyond, private background talks during session breaks; we felt just like being there despite the 8 -13 hour time shift and sitting at our home desks on the other side of the planet with a coffee mug in our hands. There are discussions and suggestions, all kinds of digital chatting related to the session, to networking, future planning ...
Altogether, a grand, flowery kaleidoscope of DEMOCRATIC LEARNING CULTURE that we are glad to share with everyone - because THIS is really important to spread world-around.

FILES FOR DOWNLOAD
To download: RIGHT-click the item, choose "save target" and indicate the location on your computer. Better not the desktop, as the audio files are quite large.
OPTION 1: pure audio only
1. download only the audio file.
2. To listen, open the file in an audio program. Or double click the file on your computer - it will probably start an audio application, automatically.
OPTION 2: full online conference experience
1. download both the pure audio file and the online conference file (htm, website document) and the text chat to the same folder location on your computer.
2. To view & listen, open the htm file in your internet browser: Internet Explorer recommended.
NOTE: Especially during interactive conferences, the text chat can contain useful information like questions, comments, website liks etc.
As time goes by, we will edit the files. We will add detailed infos, slideshows, cut sessions into individual sessions for individual download etc.
TIMETABLE
Most of the original idec timetable has been kept intact and offers you helpful orientation on the recorded sessions. Some of the timetable gradually shifted, as sessions moved, shifted, faded and popped up organically throughout the week. A detailed program timetable will be added as soon as possible.
Online conference files are not yet functional. Pls come back for them in second half of August.
